Hospitality Culture Is Focus of Summit as Albany Capital Center and Renaissance By Marriott Set Downtown Albany Opening Dates

June 9, 2015

The new Renaissance by Marriott announced it was set to open in mid-October, complementing the discussion today at the Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Hospitality Summit on developing a hospitality culture. This conversation occurs ahead of the Albany Capital Center opening which is set for 2017. Capitalize Albany Corporation President Sarah Reginelli discussed the new commercial investments underway downtown, including 300 more upscale apartments at the summit.

“$250 million in new commercial investments are underway downtown, including 300 more upscale apartments. This is unprecedented,” said Sarah Reginelli. “Two-hundred-fifty-million dollars doesn’t happen overnight and without a vision.” Read more about what’s ahead for downtown Albany in the Albany Business Review’s article here.

The Capitalize Albany team took a tour and saw an incredible view from the rooftop of the new Albany Renaissance by Marriott, currently under construction.
