Two Warehouse District Projects Move Forward

Impact Downtown Albany implementation is catalyzing change in Albany’s warehouse district. Undergoing a new transformation, it’s an exciting time as the district continues creating new opportunities for a new economy. New restaurants, retail and residential development projects are steadily taking shape as an ever-expanding vision for the district fuels even more growth.

The Albany Planning Board recently approved the site plans for two new projects in Albany’s warehouse district. The owner of Graney’s and Stout in Albany is proposing to build a high-end wine bar at 897 Broadway and the proposed plan to convert the Rodgers Liquor Co. warehouse building at 960 Broadway into restaurant and residential space was also approved. Last week, in celebration of the Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau’s 40th anniversary, the Albany Top 40 was released, featuring the warehouse district. The Albany Top 40 is list of the best of Albany—from favorite landmarks to notable festivals.
