August 10, 2016

Update 8/25/16: Movies “Up” and “The Princess Bride” events, have been rescheduled due to inclement weather forecasts. The new correct dates are now reflected below.

Next week, the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District will kick off Deja View, its free summer outdoor movie series running every Thursday from August 18 through September 15 at 7:45 p.m. in downtown Albany’s Tricentennial Park (Broadway & Columbia Street). Deja View was made possible through a partnership between the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID), Albany Parking Authority (APA), Palace Theatre and funding in part through Capitalize Albany Corporation’s Amplify Albany grant program.

While in downtown for the movies, attendees are encouraged to dine at a nearby downtown restaurant or pick up a meal to enjoy in the park. The following eateries will be offering event-night specials including burrito boxes, burger and a beer, and more: ama cocina (4 Sheridan Avenue), Dawn’s Victory Sports Café (10 Sheridan Avenue), Jack’s Oyster House (42 State Street), Jonathan’s Pizza (31 N Pearl Street), McGeary’s Irish Pub (4 Clinton Square), and Merry Monk (90 N Pearl Street). A full list of deals provided by each eatery is available at downtownalbany.org. Patrons are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to view the movie, and while in Tricentennial Park they can enjoy items from the on-site bar and concession stand run by the Palace Theatre.
