Survey & Public Workshop: Help Bring $10 Million To South Pearl Street
August 30, 2022
The City of Albany is preparing to put forward an application for South Pearl to compete in the sixth round of the New York State Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI).
The City of Albany would like your participation in creating the strongest application possible. Please attend a community workshop on September 6th from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Albany Housing Authority – 200 South Pearl Street, and take this brief online survey to ensure as much information as possible is gathered. Please respond while thinking about the community’s priorities, assets to build on, and challenges to overcome. Survey responses are needed by Sept. 12, the survey is seven questions estimated at approximately 8-10 minutes to complete.
RSVP to confirm your attendance at the workshop by emailing Capitalize Albany staff at [email protected]. Your attendance is greatly appreciated.
The DRI launched in 2016 to transform downtown neighborhoods into vibrant centers. Round six of the DRI will invest $10 million each to 10 downtown zones across New York State. Municipalities’ submissions are due on September 23rd. If the City of Albany’s application is successful, there will be significant opportunity for expanded public engagement regarding the impactful investments to take shape on South Pearl Street and in Albany’s South End Neighborhood.
