The move consolidates Equal Vision’s operations which employs 85 workers companywide and 65 at its new headquarters on South Pearl in a modern, state-of-the-art facility that enhances production capabilities, streamlines services, and strengthens support for artists and fans across the globe. With a growing workforce and increasing national demand for custom merchandise and vinyl records, the new space positions Equal Vision and its subsidiaries—including EVR Promotions, MerchNow and Burlington Record Pressing—for long-term success.
“This is more than just a new building—it’s a new chapter for Equal Vision and a vote of confidence in Albany,” said Steve Reddy, founder of Equal Vision Records. “We’re proud to grow in a way that creates jobs, supports our artists, and brings new energy to the heart of the city.”
Attendees of Wednesday’s ribbon cutting ceremony also enjoyed tours of the new space, including a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s merchandise operations and vinyl pressing capabilities.
Equal Vision Records has deep roots in the Capital Region. What began in the early 1990s as a DIY print shop run out of Reddy’s home has grown into a powerhouse in music merchandise and vinyl distribution. From humble beginnings—manually printing band t-shirts for friends in the punk and hardcore scenes—the company expanded into e-commerce with the launch of MerchNow in the early 2000s, eventually occupying more than 60,000 square feet of warehouse space on Fuller Rd. in Albany, where it flourished for the next two decades.
In 2023, responding to a surge in vinyl demand, Reddy acquired the assets of the Burlington Record Plant and established Burlington Record Pressing, relocating its operations and workforce to Albany, precipitating the move to the newest headquarters on South Pearl Street.
The new headquarters unites these thriving businesses under one roof, creating a vibrant hub of music, art, and innovation.
