Sheehan announced yesterday that she has appointed a new task force on housing affordability that will consist of Albany housing experts as well as community stakeholders, including landlord and tenant representatives.

The Common Council passed legislation on January 4, 2016, that requires this Task Force to examine the availability of affordable housing in Albany and to recommend initiatives to address specific housing needs. The Task Force is required to meet at least four times per year and must report to the Mayor and the Albany Common Council twice per year.
