Renovations Under Way At Times Union Center

Renovations are well under way with construction visible as you pass by the Times Union Center. A more than $20 million investment is taking shape and when work is finished the TU Center will feature a new, enclosed atrium that will bring bright, digital displays to the arena’s front entrance on South Pearl Street, new interior space and several other improvements.

Supported by the Impact Downtown Albany strategic plan and bolstering tourism opportunities, the work coincides with the opening of the Albany Capital Center in March, 2017. Already more than 18 events scheduled are estimated to generate $300,000 in revenue and bring thousands to the area. In connection  via an enclosed walkway between the Times Union Center, Renaissance Albany and Albany Capital Center, along with the Empire State Plaza it creates the largest meeting venue in upstate New York.
