The service’s pilot program, first launched June through fall 2017, was supported in part by the Amplify Albany grant program. With community support the service returned year-round starting in the fall of 2018. Its loop features several stops connecting residents and visitors to a variety of recreational options with easy access to each district’s entertainment, retail and dining options.
Implementation of the Impact Downtown Albany strategic plan has supported new investment in every direction surrounding downtown — from new residential options, to new retail, restaurants and entertainment venues — the Capital City Trolley is a counterpart that enhances each of the route’s commercial districts.
