Food Hall And Restaurant Incubator Albany Kitchen Readying For Opening
November 4, 2019
As part of Redburn Development Partners’ $80 million investment, the renovation of a 4,500 sq. ft. vacant building at 55 Columbia Street is under way. Occupying the building’s two floors with space fit up supported in part by the Downtown Albany Retail Grant Program, Albany Kitchen is planning for its opening in the coming weeks. Troy Kitchen opened nearly four years ago and owner Cory Nelson is expanding the successful food hall and restaurant incubator concept.
The Impact Downtown Albany strategic plan shows that not only is there a significant demand for retail downtown, but that downtown will thrive when the retail mix fully represents Albany’s unique local character. Albany Kitchen will feature space for up to 11 distinct vendors that are planned to provide a variety of offerings such as halal, poke, Mexican and Asian cuisine, a juice bar and breakfast options. Hours are planned for 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.
