Upstate Revitalization Initiative: Advancing The Region Through Focused Investment

The Capital Region Economic Development Council is competing in Governor Cuomo’s 2015 Upstate Revitalization Initiative. The eight counties of New York State’s Capital Region came together and invested in the development of a five-year, focused investment plan for the Capital Region. The Capital 20.20 team’s plan describes in detail the transformative strategies and initiatives we will pursue together as a region over the next five years.

Focused investment strategies include capturing the Region’s next growth horizons in health-tech and clean-tech, connecting markets and businesses by investing in our port infrastructure and waterways, investing in our education cluster, supporting entrepreneurship and boosting our creative economy and catalyzing smart, mixed-use urban development in our Region’s six unique urban areas.
