Local Vendors, Makers And Holiday Cheer Displayed At The Downtown Albany Arcade
December 4, 2017
The Fort Orange General Store kicked off its four-week Holiday Market in downtown Albany’s Arcade Building Thursday. Going forward, each Friday evening and ending the evening of December 22, the Holiday Market will feature 20 vendors (rotating each week) selling locally made and sourced goods, live entertainment, art exhibits, restaurant promotions, and drop-in workshops at the Fort Orange General Store.
A key Impact Downtown Albany strategy, the new pop-up programming enhanced other annual events including Albany City Hall’s Tree Lighting, vendors and exhibits at the Albany Visitors Center and the Albany Institute of History & Art. Hundreds of event-goers and holiday shoppers enjoyed the Market’s kickoff, supporting local makers and small businesses. A free shuttle, provided by Advantage Transit Group, transported visitors to each of the locations. As the Market continues for the following three Friday evenings, free parking for each event night is available in the Park Albany Riverfront Garage from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m., courtesy of the Albany Parking Authority.
