All Over Albany has produced many events, but an Amplify Albany grant award is supporting an inaugural event as part of a planned speaker series. Its first event is Thursday, May 24 at the Fort Orange General Store. This Thursday’s Amplify Albany Grant Program supported event features five downtown Albany businesses. It’s being held at the Fort Orange General Store from 6:30-8:30 p.m., during the event, refreshments will be available from Cider Belly Doughnuts and Stacks Espresso Bar. There will also be a pre-event wine tasting at Broadway Plaza Liquors, 5-6:30 p.m. After the event, attendees will be provided with one free beverage ticket at the newly opened Loch & Quay for an evening after-party. Its first speaker is Presidential historian and author Alexis Coe, who is about to release a book about George Washington. She is an historian, author, host, commenter, and consultant. She is the author of the narrative history book, Alice+Freda Forever, and is a consultant on the movie adaptation.
