Capitalize Albany is kicking off “Clinton Market Collective,” a project that will ultimately result in the renovation of the underutilized 0.38-acre parcel at 11 Clinton Avenue (also known as Federal Park) situated between the historic Palace Theatre and the landing of the Skyway project at Broadway in downtown Albany.

Made possible with support from Governor Cuomo’s Downtown Revitalization initiative (DRI) — 11 Clinton Avenue’s transformation will anchor Clinton Square’s role as both an engaging destination and an introduction to unique and vibrant local arts and commercial venues. A new design will create opportunities for retail, pop-up programming, local artists and entrepreneurs.

Building on the findings of public input and research conducted as part of the Clinton Square DRI 2018 strategic planning process, the Corporation is kicking off a week of activities including charrettes and the launch of a survey to support the park’s redesign. The Corporation has selected a professional project team specializing in urban park design, engineering, and business-operations to assist in reimagining and renovating this underutilized public space.

As a community member, we wanted to extend an invitation to you to participate in the survey where you can offer your valuable perspective and insights to the project. Your feedback will help the project team to learn key information important to a successful park redesign, identify potential retail and event uses for the space, public/private partnership opportunities, and more.
